Robinson Yost is a woodworker and boatbuilder residing in Oakland, CA. In addition to furniture making, he has restored historic wooden boats at the Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, PA and the San Francisco Maritime Museum. He studied traditional Japanese joinery and tool use with master carpenter Jay Van Arsdale. He has taught wooden boatbuilding at Downtown High School in San Francisco and furniture making at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Rockport, Maine. Robinson enjoys greenwood working and spoon carving and strives to utilize locally and sustainably sourced lumber in his work.
